Creative Waves ABA recognizes how important daily living skills are for autistic children. Our goal is to help your child become as independent as possible, setting a strong foundation for their future success. We also focus on developing social skills, which are essential for meaningful connections and overall growth.
Launching ABA Services: A Step-by-Step Guide
1. Diagnosis
Before treatment can commence, a diagnosis must be provided by a neurologist, psychologist, or pediatrician. Certain insurance plans, such as Medicaid, also necessitate an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
2. Call or message provider
Once a diagnosis has been established, reach out to a local ABA provider. Check to see if they accept your insurance.
3. An assessment will be scheduled
Once the call is completed, a member of our team will reach out to you to arrange an appointment for an assessment after insurance sends us authorization.
4. Assessment is sent
Once the assessment is completed, the BCBA will forward the report to you for review. After you give your approval, the report will be submitted to the insurance company.
5. Start services
Once the insurance approves the report, we can begin services! A phone call will be made to arrange the first ABA appointment.

The Founder
Hilary Cavaness
Hilary Cavaness earned her BCBA credential in 2019 after completing her master's degree at National University in Costa Mesa, California, where she accumulated her BCBA hours working within the Santa Ana School District. Since entering the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) in 2014, she has positively impacted the lives of many children on the autism spectrum. Her professional experience spans various environments, including schools, clinics, in-home settings, and telehealth. She was ultimately drawn to ABA by witnessing the significant progress achieved by her families and clients.
