For 2027, it's 2,000 hours of Supervised Fieldwork or 1,500 hours of Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork. Standard fieldwork requires supervision equal to at least 5% of accrued hours; concentrated requires 7.5%.

Potentially, yes. Working for a large ABA organization doesn't automatically prevent someone from having an independent supervisor. 

However, if the employer doesn't allow outside BCBAs to observe clients, review clinical materials, or discuss cases because of confidentiality/company policy I would not be able to provide supervision. 

Designed for supervisees seeking structured, individualized support while completing their BCBA fieldwork experience. This is 350 for the month.

The monthly package includes up to 5 hours of supervision per month and may include:

• Virtual individual supervision meetings
• Client observations when required and appropriate
• Review of clinical materials, data, graphs, assessments, and behavior intervention plans
• Development of unrestricted fieldwork activities
• Case conceptualization and clinical decision-making
• Feedback on written assignments and clinical work
• Ethics and professional decision-making discussions
• Support with tracking and documenting fieldwork hours
• Guidance as you develop the practical skills needed to work independently as a BCBA

Additional supervision beyond the monthly package is available at $70 per hour.

Supervision requirements vary based on the type and amount of fieldwork accrued. Creative Waves ABA will work with each supervisee to develop an individualized supervision plan consistent with current BACB requirements.

Supervision will occur virtually. Virtual supervision may include live or recorded observations of the supervisee working with client/clients. Appropriate signed releases must be obtained beforehand. 

Currently providing supervision in California and Nevada. Working towards providing supervision in Oregon.

The amount of supervision you will need depends on the number of fieldwork hours you accrue during each supervisory period and the type of fieldwork you are completing.

For Supervised Fieldwork, supervision must equal at least 5% of your total fieldwork hours.

For example:

• 20 fieldwork hours per week = approximately 1 hour of supervision per week
• 80 fieldwork hours per month = approximately 4 hours of supervision per month
• 100 fieldwork hours per month = approximately 5 hours of supervision per month

For Concentrated Supervised Fieldwork, a higher percentage of supervision is required.

Your supervision needs will be reviewed individually to ensure that your supervision schedule is appropriate for the number of qualifying fieldwork hours you are accruing and meets current BACB requirements.

Additional supervision may be recommended when more time is needed for observations, feedback, skill development, or clinical training.

Supervisees should have access to a setting where they are providing or assisting with behavior-analytic services and have access to clients appropriate for supervised fieldwork. This could be at a school, preschool, or ABA agency.
